Today, I will show you how to make a watermelon bowl. This is very easy and simple that you can make it anytime. The shell of the watermelon is not tough compared to pineapple skin which is very tough and the spiky skin is so hard to deal with. The good thing about watermelons, you can even move quickly fast to make it, especially if your time is limited. It doesn’t demand a lot of time making it. This is for decorative purposes that makes your serving dishes more attractive and appetizing. I adopted this recipe from the cookbook , ”THE GOOD HOUSEKEEPING.” an old cookbook of my grandmother.
To serve round water melon
Watermelons are available all year round.
Cut them in half crossways with a large sharp knife.
Scoop out the watermelon flesh with a large spoon and cut it into a bite – sized pieces. Discard the seeds.
Using a small, sharp knife, cut a zigzag edge around the top of the watermelon shell.
Slice a thin piece of rind from the base so that it will stand steadily.
Filling watermelon bowl: Spoon in the prepared fruit mixture into the bowl.Cover the bowl with a cling film and refrigerate until well chilled. These is a plain watermelon flesh only.
